Video Poker is a favored game that can be played in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your PC, through a net account. The rules are very simple and consist of the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, apart from the line of contact with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Electronic Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be "distributed" on the screen.
The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.
After the player has selected which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can range from game to game, so that skillful gamblers are able to choose the most beneficial machine each instance.
Once the first round has played out, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to increase their wins, in which situation another round is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
