Electronic Poker is a favored game that usually will be played in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your home computer, through a net account. The game rules are absolutely simple and involve the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards possible in order to come away with cash. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A 5 card hand will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be handed out. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Typically, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are able to select the most profitable game each time.

After the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the player a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance a further round is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
