How to Play Electronic Poker

Video Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your PC, through a web account. The rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest assemblage of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and gamblers should now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the enthusiast has selected which cards she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The round is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Generally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are able to choose the most beneficial machine each time.

After the first round has completed, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that have been won. Further, a few versions of the game give the enthusiast a chance to increase their winnings, in which instance a further game is played. There are also differences between specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
